    We are coming March 2016. My son is allergic to peanuts, treenuts, and eggs. Does anyone know if the restaurants have Mickey Waffles free of those allergens? Also, do the restaurants have desserts that do not contain those allergens?

    Hello Hope!  

    Disney has made great strides in providing options for people with all kinds of food allergies.  It's such an important option since food allergies can be so serious.  If you haven't already, I suggest contacting special.diets@DisneyWorld.com with specific questions regarding dining and your sons food allergies and taking a look at the special diets page of the Walt Disney World website.  Most restaurants will be able to accommodate a variety of food allergies at a moments notice with their special allergy free menus, but it is always good to note it on your account when you are making those dining reservations.  You'll also be able to talk about those food allergies with your server and even the Chef of the restaurant to ensure your son's safety.  I know that at buffets, the Chef will walk the line with you and personally show you all of the options available to your son.  If nothing is of his liking, the Chef will also make him something special.   I did some research and it seems to me there are allergy free waffles at all of the quick service locations that serve Mickey Waffles.  While it is not on the menu, the batter is reported to be an applesauce base that binds it all together and it is cooked on a separate iron.  Of course, things can change so you'll want to double check when you arrive.

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
