We are coming March 4-10 and plan on getting scooters for grandparents. Are the busses accessible for scooters? Can they also fit more than 1 person bus?

    Hey Erin,

Welcome back to planDisney! As someone who usually brings my amazing mom along on our family vacations to Walt Disney World, I know the Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) life well. My mom always rents an off-site ECV due to her mobility needs, so I can confirm that Disney World is a very accessible destination for those with mobility issues. Renting an ECV on or off property gives everyone with challenges the freedom to enjoy the parks. You will be happy to hear that if you plan to rent an off-site ECV, all Disney buses can hold up to two ECVs on one ride. Remember that there is a chance that someone else with an ECV could be in line to board the bus ahead of you, so if you want everyone in your party to ride together you may be required to wait a few minutes for the next bus.

Just in case you're planning to park or resort hop, I contacted Disney World this morning and spoke with a cast member who confirmed that more than one ECV can also fit on most water transportation methods as well. There are a few smaller boats that require you to step down to board - these are along a small handful of routes, like the one from Magic Kingdom to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. These smaller vessels are not wheelchair or ECV accessible, but there are alternative methods for that same route like the Monorail which can fit multiple ECVs on board per train. Additionally, the Skyliner can only fit one ECV per gondola, but the system for boarding wheelchairs and ECVs is so efficient that you would board within a few gondolas of each other if your party splits up to accommodate multiple ECVs.

Renting an ECV off-site has provided my mom with the ability to get around on her own and have a stress-free vacation. Since she and my aunt introduced me to my love of Disney Parks when I was just 4 years old. I am so grateful that she gets to continue to come with me and experience the magic of Disney Parks with my children. I know that this will also be the case for you as you journey to the most magical place on earth with your multi-generational family. I am hoping that you have the most wonderful vacation, and that you all think of the happiest things - it's the same as having wings! All you need is faith, trust and a little bit of pixie dust.
