Hi Kim! Thanks for your question!
One of the reasons that I love the Walt Disney World Resort is because of their commitment to helping guests that have
special dietary requests because of allergies or special dietary requirements. It has been my experience that they really go out of their way to accommodate special requests and they do so in a delicious fashion! Most restaurants do in fact offer no-sugar-added options.
I see that you haven’t yet alerted the Walt Disney World Resort yet of your mother’s special dietary requirement. The sooner that you let them know about her needs, the quicker they will be able to provide you with information about alternate dining options. If I were you, I would call the dining reservation line and have the cast member note on your advanced dining reservations that you have a diabetic on your reservation. This way the restaurants are alerted to your need before you arrive. Once you arrive, let a cast member and/or your server know that you have a special dietary consideration. They will be happy to try to help accommodate you!
I also would like to encourage your mother to bring some snacks into the park. This way should your mother find herself needing a quick snack, she will have it on hand so that hopefully she won’t run into an emergency. When you enter the park, just alert the Security cast member at bag check that you have a special dietary need.
Have a magical vacation!
