Coming March 23. Buying tickets to Disneyland for 3/24/2026 for 6 people. It is says it is a blackout date? What does that mean? Want to purchase tickets today with multi lans passes Please advise. Vickie

Hi there, Vickie, and welcome to planDisney!

Your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth is coming up in just a few short months, and I’m so excited for you! Spring is such a wonderful time to be in the parks—and although the exact dates haven’t been announced just yet, there’s a good chance your trip will overlap with one of my very favorite seasonal events: the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. It’s a delicious way to celebrate California flavors while enjoying all the magic!

Now, let’s take a look at your question about blockout dates. A “blockout date” simply means that a particular ticket or pass type isn’t valid for park admission on that specific day. Different ticket types have different blockout dates—for example, Magic Key annual passes each have their own set of blockout dates based on the pass type.

Since it sounds like you haven’t purchased your theme park tickets yet, blockout dates shouldn’t be an issue for you. When you buy tickets directly through the Disneyland website or mobile app, you’ll choose the exact date(s) you want to visit. If the calendar shows your preferred date(s) as available during checkout, you can go ahead and complete your purchase, and your theme park reservation(s) will be confirmed at the same time. You’ll also have the option to add Lightning Lane Multi Pass during the purchase process, which is a great way to spend less time waiting and more time making memories.

Blockout dates typically come into play only if you already have a ticket that’s tied to a specific “tier” (Tier 0–6) for 1-day admission. Lower-tier tickets have more blockout dates, while higher-tier tickets have fewer. If you’re curious, I’d recommend taking a peek at the 1-day tickets FAQ here for more info.

Vickie, I hope this clears everything up and helps you prepare to purchase your tickets for your magical adventure. If you need help choosing ticket types, understanding Lightning Lane options, or planning out your days, please feel free to visit us again here at planDisney—we’d be happy to help!

    Have a magical day!
