We are coming to Magic Kingdom soon. Can you please help with whether its worth going to character dining if our only purpose is pictures and excitement of seeing Mickey and Minnie with 5 year old and 1 year old. Thank you!

    Hello Natalie!

What a great question! My family loves Character Dining because it removes the need to wait in line while at the parks and includes the added bonus of delicious food. Most Character Dining also includes some form of light entertainment such as a parade of characters or the traditional waving of napkins at Chef Mickey's.  For those reasons, I do think the Character Dining is worth if for the photo ops and ease.

However, if you are at all unsure as to how your children will react to the characters, you may want to consider using FastPass+ for character meet and greets. In that way you still reduce line wait time and get some photos. It is always tragic when I see families at Character Dining locations with terrified kiddos that won't interact with the characters.

I hope this helps with your decision. If you have more questions, come on back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We love to help!

    See ya real soon,
