Coming June 7-16, 2010. Booked POFQ for me, DH, and DS. I read some less than favorable reviews on another site and am now 2nd guessing my choice. Should I switch to POR? What are the differences besides resort size? Thanks.

Hi Jaynee - I stayed at the Port Orleans French Quarter resort with my family several years ago, and we really loved it!  There are some definite differences between the two resorts, but keep in mind that you can walk to Riverside from French Quarter, and can enjoy all of the amenities at both resorts.

Riverside has a busier atmosphere than French Quarter, and is also considerably larger.  The pool is more crowded and much larger, and Riverside is also home to Boatrights, the only table service restaurant at Port Orleans.

The French Quarter is very relaxed - much more so than other Disney resorts, and is quiet. The themes of the two resorts are also different - Riverside is themed after the antebellum south, which has a very different feel than the French Quarter theme.

I like staying in building six at Port Orleans French Quarter, which is convenient to the bus, pool, and food court, but is also a shorter walk to Riverside.

    I hope that helps!
