Hi! We are coming in July got tickets for Moonlight Magic at Epcot! How early can we get into Epcot before the event without a park ticket for that day? Also, we are staying at Old Key West for the first time! Do you have any tips or tricks for OKW?

    Hey Howdy Hey, Jennifer!

Welcome to planDisney!  Yeehaw! How exciting that you are planning to enjoy one of the best perks of being an eligible Disney Vacation Club Member - Moonlight Magic!  Exclusive access to select Disney theme parks to trot onto attractions with shorter wait times, meet and greet Characters, hootin' and hollerin' to special entertainment, and chowing down on delectable treats is a rootin', tootin', good time!

Jennifer, Moonlight Magic is an after-hours event offered exclusively to eligible DVC Members at no cost.  The Moonlight Magic page states that to enter the event, you do not have to have a theme park ticket unless you plan to enter the theme park prior to the start of the event "mix-in" time.  A "mix in time" is the time when you can enter the theme park prior to the start of Moonlight Magic without a theme park ticket. While it does not state exactly when the "mix-in" time is, two of my fellow planDisney Panelists and DVC Members have shared that they have entered the theme park approximately two hours before the start of the Moonlight Magic event.  However, once you register for the event, you should receive more information about this specific to your event. Just note that this is subject to change.

There are a few more things you will want to know before you go, Jennifer. It sounds like you already registered.  Any changes to a Reservation have to be made by a set date, which is noted under each Moonlight Magic event.

There is typically a check-in area at the entrance of the theme park for Members checking in just for the event, as well as locations within the park for Members who have already entered the theme park.  When you check in for the event, you will need to be present and present your Digital Member ID card and your photo ID.  Additionally, your party must be together to check in.

I am excited to hear you will be enjoying Disney's Old Key West Resort. This is one of my favorite Disney Vacation Club properties, as the rooms are some of the most spacious in the DVC Resort collection.  As a Disney Vacation Club property, you will get to enjoy the home-like amenities at the Resort, and our family loves to take advantage of them. We especially love the onsite barbeque grills, so if you plan to order groceries, consider including some good old-fashioned cookout food. It's our favorite way to kick up our heels after a fun Disney pool day.  You can also take the water taxi over to Disney Springs for an after-dinner walkabout - be sure to check out the "cupcake ATM" at Sprinkles bakery.

I hope I've rounded up all of the answers you need, Jennifer. But if you have any further questions about Moonlight Magic or any Disney planning questions, giddy up on back here. Because you've got a friend in me!

    Happy Trails,
    Keri
