We are coming in July and staying at the CR, are the rooms big enough for 5 adults and a child to stay comfortably? and any suggestions for 1st visit...it is my son's (2) and my grandmother's first time to Disney?

Hi, Lesley!   The rooms at the Contemporary are beautiful, sleek, and modern. Compared to other resorts, rooms are quite large at about 436 square feet.   Rooms have 2 queen beds and a daybed.   The room can technically sleep 5 adults and a child in a pack and play, but I think it might be a bit "cozy" after a few nights!   The biggest obstacle I see is the fact there is only one bathroom.   The sinks are inside the bathroom, so it will really be difficult for more than one person at a time to be able to use it (compared to resorts that have the sinks outside the toilet bath/shower room.)  But of course, this is your call!  Personally, I would rather book 2 rooms at a Moderate Resort for the extra space and bathroom.

For a first visit, you might want to schedule a fun character meal and make sure to pick up a "First Visit" button free at Guest Services.   Take Grandma to the 50's Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios, and let your son meet Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater at Luigi's Garage!   Make sure to bring your camera to capture all the first time magic!

Do some research on both Moderate and Deluxe resorts and pick what will suit your family best.  Good luck, and have a great vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
