We are coming on July 9th for my son’s 14th birthday. He has spect the last year and a half battling cancer, and was undergoing chemo for his last birthday. We want to make sure this day is extra special! Do you offer pins or decorations etc?

    Hiya Tamara!

Wow! Your son sounds like a hero and he's so lucky to have an amazing mom like you cheering him on. You have a lot of things to celebrate together!

Yes! Cast Members at Guest Relations locations in the parks or at the Disneyland Resort Hotels will be thrilled to give you complimentary celebration buttons (for a birthday, finishing cancer treatments, or both!) when you arrive. Wear them proudly, because the best part of being at the parks on a birthday is hearing all the "Happy Birthday" wishes from everyone around you!

If you are staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel then you can order decorations as part of an in-room celebration package. You'll need to call to place your order, which gives you the chance to talk with a Cast Member and customize the fun! Another option is to order a celebration cake (Mickey-shaped, of course!) to be delivered to one of the participating resort restaurants. Cafe Orleans is one of my favorites!

Speaking of dessert...my very favorite celebration in the parks is the World of Color Dessert Party. It's so nice to have a seat (yes, chairs!) and a delicious plate of snacks and treats for the show! A perfect way to end a birthday, in my opinion.

Tamara, I have SO many ideas about celebrating in the parks! If your son has a favorite ride, character, or movie I'd love for you to send me another question so I can think about what would make his day even better. I hope he is feeling healthy and your whole family has an amazing visit!

    Keep moving forward!
