We will be coming Jan 2010, the day we arrive is my moms birthday. We are not going to the parks that day but I still wanted to do something special for her. Is there a way I can have a cake delivered to our room?

    Hi Heather:

Happy Birthday to your mom.  Planning an in-room surprise is a wonderful way to start your Disney vacation.

To plan a special birthday surprise for your mom, I would start by contacting the Dream Makers at Disney Floral and Gifts.  They can be reached at (407) WDW-GIFT or (407) 939-4438.

The Dream Makers can do just about anything and will help you create a surprise gift for your mom that she will always remember.  Let the Dream Makers know your mom's interests or favorite Disney characters.  Among other things, they can deliver personalized gift baskets and bouquets to your Disney Resort room or to a restaurant where you and your mom may be enjoying a celebratory meal.  They can also arrange to decorate your room in Disney and birthday themes as if your favorite Disney characters stopped by to set up the decorations themselves.

The Dream Makers can arrange for Mickey's Happy Surprise Cake to be delivered to your room.  This cake consists of sweets surrounded by candy bars.  If you are set on having a more traditional cake delivered to your room, let the Dream Makers know where you will be staying, and they can connect you to the relevant Disney hotel or restaurant to arrange for a cake to be delivered.

Enjoy the special day and your trip to Disney World.
