Hi there, Jeff! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!
How amazing to be bringing your granddaughter for her very first visit to
Walt Disney World! You must be SO excited to see the magic through their eyes! It is sure to be an experience you will cherish forever, so I’m so happy to be able to answer your question today to help make your vacation practically perfect in every way!
Jeff, I am SO happy to share that
Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration will be in full swing through March 31st, 2023! So, you will absolutely get a chance to join in on the fun during your vacation this coming February. Oh boy, you are in for such a treat visiting during this super historic and magical time, so let’s talk about some of my favorite parts of The World’s Most Magical Celebration.
I have to start with my favorite part of any Walt Disney World vacation - THE FOOD! So, you won't want to miss the special
EARidescent celebratory treats available through the parks, including The Crooning Flower float available at
Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom Park. The Lime and vanilla soft serve over a pineapple float is SUPER refreshing and perfect for a quick bite in the parks. I also love the celebration Churros from the Churro Wagon at Frontierland. These are classic Churros with a yummy celebratory twist! The strawberry sugar and chocolate-hazelnut dipping sauce are out of this world. These delicious treats are only available for a limited time, so be sure to try a few before they're gone!
Next, keep an eye out for the golden sculptures of your favorite Characters located all around the parks as a part of the
Disney Fab 50 Character Collection. Then, If you end up purchasing the exciting new
MagicBand+, which will be released later this year, you’ll be able to interact with these awesome sculptures. When you spot one of these gorgeous sculptures, simply wave your wrist, and you’ll hear a message from your favorite Disney characters. How cool is that?!
Now, let’s talk about the stunning
Beacons of Magic at each of the four theme parks. You have never seen the theme park icons quite like this before, having been transformed with EARidescent color and light. My favorite is the spectacular projection on The Hollywood Tower Hotel at Disney's Hollywood Studios. If you look close enough, you'll see some of the hotel's haunting guests enjoying a dance in the ballroom at the top of the hotel. See, everyone is joining in on the celebration!
Finally, we cannot talk about Walt Disney World without mentioning fireworks! If you do nothing else, make sure you check out the incredible nighttime show,
Disney Enchantment, at Magic Kingdom Park. This fireworks spectacular is really special and is the perfect way to end your magical day in the parks! Make sure you keep an eye on the
My Disney Experience app for showtimes during your visit.
I do hope this answer has been helpful to you! Please feel free to stop by again with any other questions you may have as you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
Happy planning!
