Coming in 2013 w/ 4 grandchildren, youngest will be 2. Do DDP plans & resort $ amount reflect no charge for the 2 year old? And can we do DDP w/ only quick service meals and still do character dining reservations? Can't afford moderates w/ 8 people.

    Hi Janet!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

You will not need to pay for your youngest grandchild.  He or she can enter the parks free and he or she can eat off of your plate.  That works really well at a buffet, but you might want to order some food for him or her at a regular restaurant; you can just pay out of pocket for that.

If you are on a Quick Service Dining Plan, you can not use any meal credits for a Disney Character Dining Experience.  However, just like before, you could always just pay out of pocket for one experience.  Most children love dining with the characters.  If you have a lot of girls, you might want to consider Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom, 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian, or Princess Storybook Dining at Norway in Epcot.  If you want less of a focus on Disney Princesses, then I suggest Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary, Tusker House at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and the Garden Grill at Epcot.

I hope this helps with your planning.  Please write back with more questions and I would be happy to help plan your magical Disney vacation!
