Hi there Carolyn! Walt Disney World is always a magical place to visit year-round however, there is just something extra special about being there over the holidays!

While plans for winter 2012 have yet to be officially released, check out this link to the Disney website for details on past 2011 offerings. This will give you some idea as to the unique events that are typically occurring during this time of year and help you determine what will most interest everyone in your travel party. Check back at this same Disney website link nearer to spring/ summer for current 2012 holiday planning information.

On New Year's Eve, there are usually extended hours at all 4 Disney theme parks and special New Year’s Eve fireworks offerings. Special meals will likely be available at certain table-service restaurants on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. You can reserve holiday meals up to 180 days in advance online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463).

An unofficial resource that may also help with your planning is www.allears.net and then search: Holiday Happenings at Walt Disney World.

Thanks for taking the time to visit us at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel and feel free to send more questions our way in the days leading up to your trip! May your Disney holiday vacation be practically perfect in every way!
