We are coming the first week of June 2024 staying at the Contemporary Resort. How do we get to Typhoon Lagoon? Buses don’t seem to go there.

    Hi Jeff!
    Welcome back to planDisney.

There's something to be said about taking time out at the Disney water parks after the somewhat more fast-paced theme parks.  Yes, there's a lot of water fun, but there's also a beach chair with your name on it if you need some relaxation!

Using Disney transport to go to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, you will take a bus from any Disney Resort hotel to Disney Springs, where you will transfer to another bus for Typhoon Lagoon.  The reverse route applies when you want to return to your hotel, so take a bus to Disney Springs and then another bus to Disney's Contemporary Resort.  After a day at Typhoon Lagoon, I usually opt for a Lyft ride back to my hotel - it's just quicker and reasonably inexpensive - download the Lyft app to your phone and you'll see all the options available, along with all the different prices.  The rideshare pickup point is just outside the entrance, to the right as you walk out of the park.

This cannot be guaranteed but in the recent past I have taken a bus from my hotel that called at Typhoon Lagoon en-route to Disney Springs, so please check with your Front Desk to see if this service is available.

Have you thought about upgrading your day at the water park? You can reserve a Typhoon Lagoon Umbrella (securing a shaded area with 4 chairs, small table and towels), or a Beachcomber Shack (a larger private shaded area with comfortable seating for more people, a locker, cold water all day, refillable mugs and an attendant to take your orders for food and beverages for an additional charge).  These reserved areas can be booked online, or when you arrive at the water park, and are available on a first come, first served basis, and you can see where they are located on this useful Typhoon Lagoon guide map.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions.  We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation at Walt Disney World!
