    Hello, we are coming in February for my family's first trip to Disney. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. How far is this from the parks? Traveling by bus to all parks. Trying to make sure that we are not running to any reservations.

    Hi Tara!

    You are a smart guest to realize that in your planning you must figure out travel time to the parks. It is not fun to be racing through trying to reach a dining location in time.

    The Port Orleans Riverside Resort is one of my favorites and its location is centrally located. This makes travel time to most of the parks easy and quick.  Buses will run every 15-20 minutes from the resort so you must plan that time into your travel. If you are like me I usually see the bus I need just leaving when I reach the bus area so I sit and wait for the next one to come along.

    The bus to Epcot should take about 12 minutes. It is a five minute walk to the entrance and security queues once you arrive. Hollywood Studios will be just a bit longer and around 15 minutes. The buses will drop you off right at the front of the park.  The Magic Kingdom will be about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Again the bus area will drop you off at the front of the park.  Animal Kingdom park is the furthest park from your resort and you should give yourself at least 30 minutes to reach it. There is a bit of a walk there to the entrance as well. These times are certainly an approximate and will depend on time of year, traffic, and construction issues on the roads.

    I usually figure out the times and then add on another 30-45 minutes when planning my day. I would rather arrive early and enjoy my walk to the restaurant then arrive sweating and out of breath!
