Coming 12/6. Epcot on 7, MK on 8. Now wondering if that is the weekend they will be shooting the Xmas parade? DH hates excess crowds. If it is what is the best plan to avoid the mass congestion on Main Street? Will have DGD with us. Have ADr at 1:00.

    Hi Deborah,

Typically the televised Disney's Christmas Parade is taped the first weekend in December, but the dates for 2012 have not yet been announced. You might miss the event if filming takes place on December 1st and 2nd. Last year's dates fell on the 2nd and 3rd so you have a good chance of avoiding the fans packing Main Street, U.S.A.

If the taping dates do end up coinciding with your visit to the Magic Kingdom, once you get past Main Street, U.S.A., the rest of the park is not crowded. Cast Members always leave a a path open for guests who do not want to see the parade. Sometimes even access behind the restaurant and shop buildings is opened up for people to pass through so you will be able to avoid the heaviest of the crowds.

Enjoy the magical holiday atmosphere during your visit.
