Guten Tag, meine Freundin! Wilkommen, Vicki!
I am so glad you came to planDisney with this question as you plan for one of my family's favorite meals at
Walt Disney World Resort. For my kids, no trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is complete without dinner at the
Biergarten Restaurant in
EPCOT. I happen to agree with them. The Biergarten feels as close to Germany as we can get without an airplane. The scenery is gorgeous. The food is delicious. And the Polka band brings so much energy and joy. It is a family favorite for so many reasons.
Officially, there is not a specific schedule for the Polka band. They take the stage; play for approximately 20-30 minutes; take a short break; and come back to play again throughout the day. What I have learned from my experience, schedule lunch no earlier than 1 pm. Typically, the restaurant opens at noon. If you are among the first to arrive, you are very likely to see the band, but it may be as you are gearing up to leave. When we have had reservations around 1 pm, we have joined in the Chicken Dance and a rousing round of "Zicke Zacke Hoi Hoi Hoi" or two while enjoying bratwurst, schnitzel and sauerkraut.
If they happen to serve potato latkes when you are there, be sure to stop by the carving station for some applesauce (by the mustards). It's so good! And while my boys are infatuated with the very fudgy brownies, the Apfel Strudel with the vanilla sauce (or as I do it, the vanilla sauce with a bit of strudel) is the go-to dessert.
Your window to book
dining reservations opens 60 days before your visit at 6:00 am Eastern. Mark your calendar. If you have any other questions, please come back to
planDisney. We are here for you.
Ein Prosit!
