Jane from SD Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We are coming to see you the end of September, beginning of October. I would like to know the best time to make dining reservations and purchase tickets for things like the Princess Experience and Light Saber workshop please. Thank you!!

    Welcome to planDisney, Jane.

Many years ago, my wife and I honeymooned at Walt Disney World at the end of September. It's such a brilliant time of year to visit. Not only are the crowds a little lower, but you'll be able to enjoy the Halloween decorations (and treats) throughout the Theme Parks. The Word's Most Magical Celebration will also be taking place. With new attractions and shows, delectable food and drink, dazzling décor and EARidescent excitement, there’s certainly something there that wasn’t there before. You're going to have a magical time!

Walt Disney World has some of the tastiest food on the planet. "If you're stressed, it's fine dining we suggest." One of my favorite things to do in anticipation of our trip is to make dining reservations. You can do this through your My Disney Experience account up to 60 days in advance of your arrival. If you're staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, then you get the added benefit of being able to make reservations up to 60 days in advance plus the length of your stay (up to 10 days). This means you are far more likely to reserve a table before restaurants fill up.

If you're not able to reserve a table at a particular restaurant that you set your heart on, Hakuna Matata. People cancel their reservations quite often. Therefore, keep checking availability and see if anything pops up.

If all else fails, the My Disney Experience Mobile App allows you to make walk-up dining reservations at select restaurants. All you have to do is find a participating restaurant and make sure you're in close proximity. Then open the app, click on "Check Dining Availability," select the size of your party, select the date, and then select "Now" under "Search by Time." Once you do that, you should be able to view the estimated wait time for your restaurant. Once you are added to the standby list, you'll be notified when your table is ready.

If you're hoping to visit Savi's Workshop, then you'll be pleased to know that you're never too young (or old) to join the Resistance in our battle against the First Order. This unique experience of building your own lightsaber is part of the Enchanting Extras Collection and can be booked up to 60 days in advance. You don't need to be staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel to book this early. You just need to make sure you have valid admission and park reservation for Disney's Hollywood Studios on the same day.

Jane, due to the pandemic, Walt Disney World is continuing its phased reopening. So many wonderful and magical things have returned over the past year. But as the Fairy Godmother once said, "Even miracles take a little time." Therefore, we're still waiting for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience to return. I'd encourage you to keep checking Disney Parks Blog for any exciting announcements. Hopefully, it won't be long until children will be able to once again experience their elegant princess transformation.

I hope that's helpful, Jane. Please stop by planDisney again if you have any more questions.

    ChEARS,
    Mike
