Coming at the end of the month-hurrah! Worried how are tummies are going to cope with the excess of the dining plan! Are there any fun but fairly healthy snacks we can get on our snack credit? Will try micky ice cream bars too! Best healthy QS for kids?

    Hello Nicola!

One of my favorite parts of a Disney vacation, is all the yummy food that you get to enjoy. While it's hard to pass up those Premium Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bars, there are certainly healthy eating options to be found.  Disney has recently started a new program where healthy foods and snacks are given a Mickey Check, making it easy to spot good nutritious choices.

Fruit is a great go to healthy snack and can be found whole or prepackaged in the parks and resorts at most any location. Chip and Dale Snack Company is a line of prepackaged treats you can find in the parks and resorts as well.  The colorful packaging featuring the furry duo is enticing to children, but the treats inside such as granola or mountain mix offer a healthy alternative. This cannot be used for a snack credit, but it is a handy treat that travels well.  One of my favorite treats in the entire park is a rainbow Khaki Gori located in the Japan Pavilion of Epcot.  The shaved ice comes in 4 flavors strawberry, melon, tangerine or rainbow (all three flavors mixed together).  This is a good alternative to ice cream on a warm day since it's light refreshing flavors and not quite so heavy as dairy and chocolate.

Disney's new Be Our Guest restaurant was one of the first restaurants to use the Mickey Check program with offering grilled fish and turkey meat loaf.  Since Be Our Guest is a Quick Service location at lunch time, this is a perfect way to have a fun healthy meal for your children.  My other favorite place for healthy Quick Service dining is Sunshine Season in Epcot, there are numerous options sure to make you and your little one happy.  If you are looking for a healthy lunch in Hollywood Studios, head over to Staring Rolls Bakery (look past the cupcakes) and try one of their veggie pitas. I hope this helps and please let us know if we can answer anymore of your questions!

    Enjoy your "Disney Time!"
