coming end of Aug..stayed at Beach Club last time, but are on tighter budget..was b/w P/O and CBR but now looking at the Cabins..kids r 5,3,1..I see theres new kiddie pool..need more info on cabins.(how close to restaurants, toddler friendly, etc) confused.

    Hi Jennifer!

The cabins are great.  I'm thinking of staying there with my family for a week next February.  However, you should know that Fort Wilderness is huge.  The cabins are near the front of the resort while things like the boat dock to the Magic Kingdom, Trail's End Restaurant, the main store, are at the back of the resort next to Bay Lake.  If you have a car, you can park it in front of your cabin and it makes getting around the rest of Walt Disney World very easy.  However, you can not drive a car to the places at the back of the  resort.  You either have to walk, take an internal bus, or rent a golf cart.

If you don't have a car, then to get to another location, you would have to get on the internal bus system and then catch the appropriate bus to wherever you are going (or boat if going to the Magic Kingdom).  Thus it can take a little while longer to get somewhere!

By the way, if you decide not to stay in Fort Wilderness, I highly recommend Port Orleans Riverside, especially the Alligator Bayou section of the resort.  Riverside is my favorite Disney Moderate Resort.  It has a lot of amenities and services.  I especially like the boat service between Riverside and Downtown Disney; it's fun and very relaxing at night!

    Good luck with your decision!
