Coming to DW 8/31-9/6. We got free QS dining, but also want to do Chef Mickey's. When I make the reservation, do I pay then or is a hold placed on my credit or debit card? We are getting Disney Gift Cards and want to pay with them. Is this possible?

    Hi Steven,

Congratulations on booking a Walt Disney World vacation with free dining!  That's so cool.  Despite my many trips to the most magical place on earth, I've never been lucky enough to snag a free dining promotion.

Even though you'll be paying out-of-pocket for your Chef Mickey dining experience, I think you'll find it is well worth it!  There's nothing quite like dining with "the big cheese" while the iconic monorails glide overhead at Disney's Contemporary Resort.  I ate there last month with dear friends and found the extensive buffet quite impressive.

When you call (407) WDW-DINE to make your advance dining reservation for this restaurant, they will take your credit card number.  This is done because a $10/person fee will be charged for any guest who fails to show up for their reservation without canceling at least 24 hours in advance.  However, you should feel free to pay with a Disney gift card, credit card, or cash when you dine that evening.  You are not committed to pay with the credit card you used to hold the reservation.

Wishing you a magical meal at Chef Mickey's this fall!
