Hi there, Kathleen! Welcome back to planDisney!
It's just a few short weeks until you get to experience
all the Disney thrills on your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation! I'm sure you're super excited, and it's my pleasure to help you get ready for your trip. So let's chat about one of my favorite topics,
dining at Walt Disney World Resort.
Many table service restaurants throughout Walt Disney World Resort also offer lounge seating in the bar area. Some lounges offer the same menu as you find at the restaurant, some have an abbreviated version of the restaurant menu, and some lounge menus have completely different offerings from the restaurant. If you're visiting a restaurant that has a prix fixe menu, such as
Space 220 Restaurant, you will not be able to order from the lounge menu. At other dining locations, it is typically at the restaurant Cast Members' discretion as to whether or not ordering from the lounge menu will be permitted.
My family and I had dinner at
Steakhouse 71 a few months ago. While everything I've ever tried at this restaurant has been delicious, I'm particularly fond of the Stack Burger that is on their lunch and lounge menus. It's one of the best burgers I've ever had! Although the Stack Burger is not on the restaurant's dinner menu, our server was happy to let us order this lounge menu item in the restaurant. While the availability of lounge menu items at restaurants may vary a bit, in my experience, the Cast Members will do their best to make sure their Guests enjoy their dining experience.
No matter what you order for dinner at Steakhouse 71, be sure to end your meal with the Steakhouse 71 Chocolate Cake. This sharable dessert is the perfect way to end a Walt Disney World Resort day!
Kathleen, if you have any additional questions as you get ready for your trip, please don't hesitate to ask. My fellow planDisney panelists and I would love to help you have the most magical vacation ever! See ya real soon!
