Hello! We're coming down for a family trip in December and we're on the DDP. We plan to go straight to DS, and eat lunch there on our 1st day. Can we use our dining plan, even though we will not have officially check in yet?

Hello Kimberly!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

With a limited number of direct flights to Orlando International Airport from the airport near my hometown, my family is usually arriving at Walt Disney World Resort around the same time that the sun does.

On these early days before we are able to Check-In to our Resort Hotel, we spend a day in the Theme Parks, lounge by the pool or visit the shops at Disney Springs. No matter what we do before we gain access to our Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Room, we always have a nice lunch wherever or day takes us, and we use our Disney Dining Plan(when we have one).

We are able to begin redeeming our Disney Dining Plan credits because we have already completed Online Check-In through our My Disney Experience Account up to 60 days in advance of our vacation. As long as you complete the Online Check-In process your Disney Dining Plan credits are available to begin using on your Check-In day.

The same goes for any tickets or FastPass+ selections that are linked to Guests linked on the Walt Disney World Resort Reservations.

I recommend that you speak with Guest Services at your Resort Hotel upon arrival before you head to Disney Springs, as they will be able to text you when your room is available.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
