I am coming down with my family to Disney World on May 12 through the 18th. I have a 4 year old son and an 18 month old daughter. We have the dining plus plan. This is our first family vacations to Walt Disney World. What would you recommend for dining?

    Hi Keri,

I am so excited for you to be planning your very first Walt Disney World vacation, and great job choosing a Disney Dining Plan. It will be important to have your Advanced Dining Reservations booked ahead of time, so I'll give you a list of my family's favorites. With the ages of your prince and princess, I would definitely book Character Dining experiences, as it allows your family one-on-one time with characters while avoiding potentially long, hot lines for autographs and photos in the Parks.

Our family's favorite Character Dining experiences include:
Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom
Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort
Disney Junior Plan 'n Dine at Disney's Hollywood Studios (characters are only at breakfast and lunch)
Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at Epcot

Disney offers excellent dining locations such as 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort, where children's coconut races and live Hawaiian singing will make for a wonderful vacation memory. The Teppan-yaki style cooking of Teppan Edo at Epcot also offers family entertainment ... a family favorite of ours! I'd also recommend Coral Reef at Epcot, where the dining room offers views of over 4,000 sea creatures. Be Our Guest at Magic Kingdom has become so popular, reservations are almost impossible to come by, however I'd recommend walking up at lunch time. Dining within Beast's Castle at Be Our Guest will truly become a magical experience for your royal family!

Don't be too discouraged if you can't get into the most popular choices. Often times reservations will open up as guests' itineraries change.

I'm limited in space, Keri, but feel free to write me back with additional questions!
