Hi Diana!
Welcome to planDisney! On behalf of all of us hEAR, please thank your husband and your brother for their service! I'm happy to be your planEAR today.
I'm a military spouse myself and am very familiar with the various ways Disney's Parks carry on the traditions of honoring our nation's heroes. Disney itself offers a
Military multi-day Park Hopper admission ticket as well as a
special military rate at the Disneyland Resort Hotels to those who are currently Active Duty, Reservists, members of the Guard, those who retired after 20+ years of service, and also veterans who are rated with a 100% service-connected disability. Those who qualify can purchase up to 6 of the Military tickets per yEAR and book up to two hotels rooms at the same time. Currently, these tickets can only be purchased at a Military ticket office on a base or post, and to get the special hotel rate you'll need to call the Disneyland Hotel Reservation phone line at (714) 956-6425. Lastly, guests who qualify for these offers will need to show a valid Military ID displaying their current status at the time of purchase and the first use of the tickets, and at check-in.
There is another ticket discount available to Veterans who don't qualify for the offers above; these are the same tickets that you see listed on the Disneyland Theme Park Ticket link (2-day 1-Park-Per-Day, 5 Day Park Hopper, etc) but sold at a slight discount. Even better, there are no validation requirements or purchase limits. The only caveat though is that to get these tickets someone will need to be able to get on base. The good news is that the 2018 John McCain Defense Authorization Act expanded base/post benefits to non-retired Veterans who have a disability rating of 0-95% (so, basically everyone) so now Vets can get on base to shop at the Commissary, Exchange, use the bowling alley, the Auto Shop, all of those services, including the Ticket Office. The catch is that to be able to get on a base, your husband and/or brother will need an updated VHIC from the VA that displays both their rating and 'MWR Commissary' on it. Before you set off on all of this work, I want you to check out the price list. I'm not sure where you are in the state, but your best bet is to Google 'Camp Pendleton ITT'; once on their website, scroll down about halfway and click on the 'ITT Price List' download on the right. The one-day tickets have the most savings, but the 2 through 5-day tickets are between *$7-$15 off the prices that you see online.
However you think you might purchase your tickets, you'll want to act sooner rather than later as guests now also need to make
Park Pass Reservations which tell Mickey which theme park you're visiting on what day of your trip. Reservations
open for booking 120 days in advance and have been known to book solid about a month in advance.
I hope this helped to clEAR things up, Diana! Thank you again so much for sending this great Disneyland Resort vacation planning question our way. Be sure to follow the
