Welcome to planDisney, Brianna! And a very merry unbirthday to you! Thanks for sharing this question with us and it will be a pleasure to help you continue planning for your upcoming visit to Disneyland Resort.
Blue Bayou Restaurant is such a special place and I can definitely imagine an unforgettable birthday celebration meal there! Don't forget to pick up your
complimentary celebration button at one of the Guest Relations locations. It lets Cast Members know that you are celebrating something special so they can send their happy wishes to you.
I also have some kiddos with selective palates in my family, but please let me reassure you that Disneyland Resort makes kids feel welcome in any environment! There is no requirement to select an entree meal for your family to be able to enjoy your time at Blue Bayou Restaurant. It would be perfectly fine to let the dining staff know that the adults in your party are planning to order from the regular menu and the kids are going straight for dessert (honestly, the best priority in my opinion!)
Brianna, you might consider stopping at a quick-service restaurant for a Kids Power Pack which typically includes a yogurt smoothie, carrot sticks, a Cuties® mandarin orange, and crackers with a small beverage. This is usually sufficient for my kids, or they'll never turn down an Uncrustables PB&J sandwich! For the record, the nearest location to Blue Bayou Restaurant where you can find one is at
Royal Street Veranda, and it is currently served with fruit and an applesauce packet. I hope these suggestions are helpful because they've served my family well during our recent visits!
If we can help with any other personal recommendations to make your visit extra special, please don't hesitate to come back and see us again here at

Wishing you Wondrous Journeys,
