We are coming to DL in May and this is our first time as a family to attend! I have watched the DVD and have been researching, but still feel overwhelmed. We have a 5 yr and a 2 yr old. Which hotel would you suggest? On the monorail or not? Thanks!

Hi Justin!  I am so excited to hear that you are planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort and even more excited that I have the opportunity to spread a little pixie dust on your upcoming vacation!

The Disneyland Resort, has something to meet the needs of every family when it comes to accommodations.  From value to luxury there are several options from which to choose:  Paradise Pier, Disneyland Hotel, and Disney's Grand Californian Resort and Spa.  Judging by the ages of your children, I think your family will absolutely fall in love with Disneyland Hotel which has just undergone a major renovation!

This resort SCREAMS "classic Disney" from the nostalgic decor and close attention to detail to the elaborately themed guest rooms or suites and imaginatively-designed pool areas.  This resort also features casual and fine dining options as well as a bar and coffee shop.  By staying at this original Disneyland Resort hotel, I can assure you will be immersed in pure magic from the moment you wake until you close your eyes at night.

There isn't a nook or cranny of Disneyland Hotel that hasn't been sprinkled with pixie dust, and this is evident from the moment you step into your guest room.  I don't want to ruin the surprise, but to give a little hint, guests of all ages will delight in the magical "good night kiss" feature which will serenade tired princes and princesses with a familiar Disney tune and fiber optic fireworks displays in the headboards of each bed.

None of the Disneyland Resort Hotels are directly serviced by the Monorail, but Disneyland Hotel is just steps away from Downtown Disney and the Monorail Station, should you decide to hop aboard for a nonstop ride to Disneyland Park's Tomorrowland!

No matter which Disneyland Resort Hotel you choose, I can speak with confidence when I say that you'll be pleased!
