Hi Nicola Michelle ~
Your trip is literally around the corner and I bet you are too excited to sleep already! There are so many new things to see and do this
summer at the Walt Disney World Resort and I know you're going to love every minute of it.
I have grown up going to Central Florida and Disney World several times a year. During the summer months, there is usually a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoons. While I'm no meteorologist (nor do I play one on TV), it seems like the storms typically pass quickly unless there is some sort of tropical depression coming through.
We were at Disney World last week and there was a chance of liquid sunshine every day. We packed our ponchos and umbrellas and headed to the parks. We also each took a hat or visor to wear under our ponchos. That helped keep the hood out of our faces but in place over our heads.
While the cloud cover and storms cooled things off a bit (that is a relative term when the temperature was still in the mid-80s), we did not need any type of rain jumpers or pants. Ponchos can get a little steamy so we wanted to be able to keep it a little cooler.
We did decide to wear our sneakers into the parks but carried a pair of flip-flops just in case our feet got soaked. We managed to avoid most of the puddles and kept our feet pretty dry. I also carried a plastic bag to put our wet ponchos and umbrellas in when we were not using them. That way they didn't drip all over us.
I am super cold natured so I always carry a light sweater in my backpack to wear when dining inside even in the summer months. When I was a little damp from the rain last week, I was especially glad I had it for indoor dining.
Please feel free to visit us again. We will be hEAR for you until you embark on your pixie dusted trail.
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
