Hi Michael!
My husband and I will soon be heading down to the great
Fort Wilderness Resort at Walt Disney World. It is our favorite place to stay every fall and it is such a unique property that many guests don't even realize what is offered there. You will love the peacefulness and will enjoy seeing the resident deer, turkey and other small furry friends.
Campers will be allowed to check-in at 1pm. All RV or camping vehicles must go through the outside check in lanes where you will be given your site assignment and pertinent information. It is always good to do the on line check in as your packet will be ready and the process will take less time. This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions you might have to become more familiar with the resort. It is the largest in land area of all Disney resorts and it will have an internal bus system to make getting around much easier.
Many guests add to their budget and
Rent Golf Carts during their stay. This gives you a bit more freedom of coming and going to both ends of the resort.
Be sure and check out the Disney stables located near Pioneer Hall. This is home to many of Cinderella's ponies as well as the big and beautiful horses that are used in the parades. Pioneer Hall is home to Hoop Dee Doo and next to that you will find Trails End restaurant that offers great breakfast and dinner buffets as well as take out items. Canoes and fishing equipment rentals are found at the Bike Barn which is located next to the large pool. There are two Trading Posts where you can pick up some food items as well as Disney souvenirs. It is a great little community resort.
Have an awesome time....I am counting my days until arrival!
