Hiya Michelle,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for your excellent question! Believe it or not, there are a lot of Walt Disney World Resort park-goers who are very passionate about their cutlery.
Walt Disney World Resort (and all the Disney parks) are incredibly committed to reducing its environmental footprint through
Disney Planet Possible. While they still provide plastic cutlery at quick-service dining locations, Disney no longer offers single-use items such as paper straws and plastic lids (unless requested). That said, a growing number of Guests have brought their own cutlery and reusable straws with them to the Theme Parks to reduce their waste. I like to travel with straws because I prefer them to paper straws. You are welcome to bring your own with you as well, but you are not permitted to bring in knives. They are a prohibited item according to
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules. Another thing to keep in mind is the rules also prohibit plastic straws (even reusable ones) at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Water parks, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. This protects those animals who call those areas home!
I hope this was helpful, Michelle. Before I let you go, keep an eye out at the merchandise locations at Walt Disney World Resort. During my last trip, I spotted an adorable reusable utensil set at
EPCOT and had to stop myself from buying it. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
