Greetings, and welcome back to
planDisney, Lori!
How wonderful it is that you are planning a visit to
Disneyland Resort with your granddaughter, the memories you will make together will definitely be ones to last for years to come! I am really glad to hear that your granddaughter will benefit from the
Disneyland Disability Access Service (DAS) which will enable you to take her to a more comfortable place to tend to her needs while waiting for the DAS Return Time and avoid waiting at the attraction queue. Did you know that you can register for the DAS in one of two ways? The first method is the DAS Advance virtual chat anywhere from 2 to 30-days before your arrival, or in-person once inside a Disneyland Resort theme park by visiting the Guest Relations.
As a parent of an autistic child, having recently completed our Disney vacation, my experience with character greetings was, that they were not on the list of
Disneyland Resort Attractions Available with the DAS Accommodation (subject to change). What I recommend, Lori is to speak with readily-available Cast Members who wear buttons that say, "Ask Me About Characters" or the Cast Member at the end of the greeting line who can direct you accordingly. Lori, you can also locate the characters using the
Disneyland Mobile App - look for the map on the
Home Page and from the pull-down menu beside
Attractions select
Characters where you will then see Mickey Mouse Heads indicating the location and greet time of a specific character or characters.
Another strategy for meeting the Disney Characters is to book a
Disneyland Resort Character Dining experience, we always find greeting characters a lot of fun this way, just be sure to book your Disneyland Resort Character Dining or any other Dining Reservation 60-days before your arrival as these experiences are hugely popular with many Guests.
Lori, having visited
Tinker Bell At Pixie Hollow I was delighted with the various areas to visit and explore such as Tinker Bell's House, and the magical forest with larger-than-life grass and flowers. In my opinion, maybe your granddaughter would be entertained by these beautifully detailed areas on her way to meet Tinker Bell or any other Fairy that may pass through. Lastly, you may wish to consider visiting early morning as the lines are typically shorter (subject to change).
Tips:Please ensure you make your
Disneyland Resort - Theme Park Reservations using valid admission in advance of your arrival.
Be sure to link the theme park tickets of those travelling with you in preparation for the DAS Advance virtual chat or the in-person DAS Registration so those travelling with you can be included on the DAS Guestlist. Using the Disneyland Mobile App, or at an attraction entrance or a Guest Experience Team Kiosk, anyone on the DAS Guestlist may request a DAS Return Time but your granddaughter must be present when redeeming the DAS Return Time at an attraction.
Lori, it was my pleasure assisting you today. I hope this information serves you well and I wish you all the happiest visits to the Disneyland Resort!
