We are coming to Disneyland and will be there on my mother’s 90th birthday. Other than her getting a happy birthday Pin is there anything else special that Disneyland might offer for her on her birthday?

Hey there, Roxanne! What a joy it is to welcome you to planDisney—and what an extraordinary celebration you have ahead! A 90th birthday is a milestone unlike any other, and there’s no better place to mark it than the Happiest Place on Earth. How wonderful that your mother’s special day coincides with the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration—it’s as if the whole park is sparkling in her honor!

You’re absolutely right that her first stop should be City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A., to pick up a complimentary “Happy Birthday” button. You’ll be amazed by how many warm wishes she’ll receive from Cast Members and fellow Guests throughout the day. But that’s just the beginning of the magic waiting to unfold!

For a picture-perfect start, I’d recommend Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at Plaza Inn, where she can enjoy a delicious meal and plenty of character greetings. This experience is extremely popular, so advance dining reservations are strongly encouraged. Since her trip is just around the corner, keep checking the Disneyland mobile app—new openings can pop up at any moment. A little persistence (and maybe a pinch of pixie dust) can make all the difference!

Later in the day, you could surprise her with an extra sprinkle of magic—quite literally! Stop by Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where Cast Members can offer a touch of shimmering pixie dust to Guests of all ages. It’s a simple gesture that always brings out smiles, especially for someone celebrating such a special milestone. And since you’ll want to preserve every sparkling moment, seek out a Disney PhotoPass photographer for a Magic Shot surprise—those photos where a bit of Disney magic appears after the picture is taken. Imagine your mother’s delight when she sees Mickey or Tinker Bell appear in her photo later that day!

When the sun sets, I can’t think of a more fitting finale than reserving a spot at the Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace. It’s a serene, open-air setting with light bites, beverages, and an incredible view of the fireworks—the perfect way to reflect on nine decades of cherished memories as the sky glitters above Sleeping Beauty Castle.

And for one last touch of birthday magic, Roxanne, I encourage you to visit the Emporium before the day ends. I’ll never forget shopping there with a friend last year who was wearing her birthday button—a Cast Member called her over to the register and told her she had a phone call from a special friend. It was Goofy himself on the line!

Roxanne, I can just imagine your mother taking it all in—the music, the castle lights, the generations of joy all around her—and feeling like the celebration was meant just for her. May this birthday be a beautiful blend of nostalgia and new memories, wrapped in the same kind of wonder that has made Disneyland magical for 70 years and counting.

    See ya real soon!
