Hi there, Kelly,
That sounds exciting! I’m sure your Disneyland Resort vacation will be an experience to remember for your family and the friends coming along.
You are welcome to link your Disneyland Resort theme park tickets however it makes the most sense to you. First, any tickets originally linked to a given Disneyland Resort account will be managed by that account and can only be unlinked from that account by a Cast Member, such as by calling the
Tickets phone line. If multiple accounts were used to purchase tickets or make an original link to an account, then you can also link different sets of tickets to different account owners. If you’d like everyone to have access to all of the tickets, that should be permitted. If you want your kids and their friends to have their tickets linked to their own accounts but not have your tickets, that would work too.
If you are ever expecting to remain one whole group for any of your opportunities to book
Lightning Lane return times, it may help to have at least one account with all of the tickets linked. Otherwise, you would need to have multiple account holders attempt to coordinate booking return times as close to the same time as possible. It’s possible to pull it off. But it can be a bit tricky to get overlapping reservation windows for popular attractions that can sometimes have their return times booked up quickly.
For anyone that has all of the tickets linked to their account, or even a larger part of the tickets than for the group with which they are currently separated from the whole group, booking Lightning Lane return times is still doable. When booking a Lightning Lane, the person using the
Disneyland mobile app will see a screen that lets them select the specific tickets to include in the reservation. So only a portion of the tickets may be selected if they are currently with a smaller group. This process isn’t difficult. But this is also an example of where some Guests might prefer to not have
all of the tickets linked to their account. For faster booking, it can be easier to simply choose the “Select All” option rather than manually go through the whole list to select the individual tickets of their smaller group. This can also help if you are worried about someone accidentally canceling an existing Lightning Lane return time that was meant to remain in place for someone not currently with their smaller group.
I hope this helps decide how to proceed with linking your
theme park tickets among the various account holders in your travel party, Kelly. If there is more that we can help with here at planDisney, we’d be happy to hear from you again.
