Hello there Clare, welcome to planDisney!
How exciting that you're already planning a trip to the "Happiest Place on Earth" for next year! I see that it will be your first time visiting, make sure to stop by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in
Disneyland Park or Guest Services at
Disney California Adventure Park to receive your complimentary "First Visit" button. I'm sure you'll receive some special shout-outs from Guests and Cast Members during your trip!
You definitely can purchase your
theme park tickets together, however, it's not necessary, and you can easily link separate theme park tickets in the
Disneyland app. Open up the app, and navigate to the three horizontal bar line menu in the bottom right-hand corner. Tap "My Tickets & Passes," and then tap "Link Tickets & Passes." You can either scan the ticket barcode or type in the ticket number manually.
Once your tickets are linked, you can purchase
Lightning Lane Multi Pass as soon as you scan your ticket to enter the theme parks for the day if you did not purchase it in advance. Once you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can begin to secure your Lightning Lane selections together, and you're still able to book separate Lightning Lane selections in case you want to experience different attractions or entertainment during your trip.
You'll be able to see when you can book your next Lightning Lane selection at the top of the "Tip Board" where you'll book your selections in the Disneyland app. I like to set an alarm on my mobile phone of when I can make my next selection, and grab that next Lightning Lane as soon as I can! Our top priorities include Indiana Jones Adventure and Space Mountain in Disneyland Park, and Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! and Toy Story Midway Mania in Disney California Adventure Park.
I hope this information is helpful for your trip planning, Clare! If we can help with any other questions as your vacation comes together, please don't hesitate to
come back and ask.
Have a magical day!
Melissa
