I am coming to Disneyland to celebrate my 70th birthday. Are there special perks for birthday people?

Hello, Paul, and welcome to planDisney! First of all, happy birthday to you! How perfect is it that you'll be celebrating your 70th birthday the same year that the Disneyland Resort is celebrating its 70th anniversary? While there aren't necessarily exclusive perks for Guests on their birthday, there are many fun ways to make your day special.

When celebrating in the parks, my family usually picks up a complimentary birthday button. The buttons can typically be found at various retail locations, as well as City Hall on Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland and Guest Services at California Adventure. You can also get an "I'm Celebrating" button for others in your party. We've experienced Cast Members, Characters, and even other Guests wishing us a Happy Birthday after noticing the button. It adds a little extra pixie dust to the day.

Paul, I'd also recommend a nice, sit-down lunch or dinner in the park with your loved ones. Make a dining reservation at a restaurant that offers the Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake. This adorable, decadent cake can feed four to six Guests and is almost too pretty to eat – almost! It's recommended that this cake be pre-ordered when making a dining reservation. It can also be ordered in-person at the host podium (subject to availability).

There are a few attractions to add to your itinerary, Paul. There's a birthday scene at the end of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – you can join the party as you cruise past in your beehive. You can also go for a spin at the Mad Tea Party – we've seen the Mad Hatter there a few times celebrating his "unbirthday" with Alice.

You can also pick up a little something special for yourself. Check out the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration merchandise that was just announced on the Disney Parks Blog. Some collections prominently feature "70" on them, which would be fun since you will be there celebrating your 70th birthday.

Paul, on behalf of all of us here at planDisney, I'd like to wish you a wonderful birthday filled with magical moments and happy memories. If you have any other questions ahead of your trip, you know where to find us.

As Mickey would say, “See ya real soon!”
