We are coming to Disney World this year with our two year old son, who will turn 3 mid way thru the visit. Will he be required to have a ticket for the last days of the trip to enter the park? Is proof of age necessary to enter without a ticket?

    Hi Romie!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We are thrilled to have you here! Thank you for sending your awesome questions about Walt Disney World Resort theme park tickets.

You must be so excited about your upcoming vacation. You are doing a fantastic job planning all of those “last-minute” details! I think you will find that traveling to Walt Disney World Resort with your little one will be stress-free, memorable and magical.

Romie, the ticket requirement for your son will be determined by his age at the time of check-in. Because he is turning 3 after checking-in, he will not need a theme park ticket to enter the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks during the last days of your vacation. Tiny Mouseketeers are some of Mickey Mouse’s most special Guests! Your prince-in-training will also be able to eat for free at all buffet and family-style restaurants for the entirety of your vacation.

Proof of age is not necessary for your son to enter the theme parks without a Walt Disney World Resort theme park ticket. My daughter has always been very tall for her age. We took a vacation shortly before she turned 3, and while we were asked “is she under 3 years of age?” while entering a theme park, we were never asked for proof of age. We simply told them she was under 3 and we entered the theme parks with her. If it provides you with greater peace of mind, you may wish to travel with a copy of his birth certificate. However, I have never been asked for proof of age.

Romie, I hope I have answered your questions. If you have any additional questions before, during or after your magical vacation, please visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel again.
