We are coming to Disney World for our 35 Wedding Anniversary in September 2014. We booked the Wild Africa Trek at 8:00 am We are staying at the All Star Movies. Will disney buses be available to get us to AK, or will we to book another travel method

    Hi Kathleen,

You are going to love, love, love the Wild Africa Trek! Several of my Disney Parks Moms Panel friends and I did the trek together in September, and it far exceeded my expectations. So much fun!

Disney transportation does run extra buses to the parks early in the morning for guests with reservations for dining or special events prior to opening. If you want to take the bus, I would see with the concierge the day before to let them know what time your reservation is and double-check availability.

I'm a big fan of the Walt Disney World transportation system. However, in this case, I would probably opt to take a taxi that morning. The cost should be relatively small -- no more than $20 with tip. I think it's worth it to be sure you arrive at the gate of Animal Kingdom no later than 7:30, rested and ready for your adventure. Taxis are usually available near the resort's lobby, or the front desk will call one for you.

Please note that the trek guides ask that you arrive about 15 minutes early to get checked in and into your gear, and it takes 10 to 15 minutes to walk from the entrance to the starting point near Kilimanjaro Safaris.

I hope that helps. Enjoy the Wild Africa Trek and your entire celebration visit to Walt Disney World. Happy Anniversary!
