Hi Diane! Welcome to planDisney.
I see your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is less than a week away! Do you have room in your suitcase for me?
Spring is in bloom all around the Walt Disney World Resort, and you will be experiencing all of the magic so very soon.
At this time,
Walt Disney World Resort hotels are open to Guests who are staying at that hotel, or who have dining reservations at a restaurant located there. This is to ensure health and safety measures, such as physical distancing and enhanced cleaning, can be properly observed; all the details can be found in the
Resort Hotels Know Before You Go information. Having said that, this is up to the discretion of the resort, so I would definitely recommend asking at the front desk when you arrive. It could be that there is more flexibility depending on current capacity at your particular hotel, but that can’t be guaranteed.
If there’s a table service restaurant at your resort hotel, you could make
dining reservations with your friends and family who won’t be staying with you. This would allow them to join you for a meal, and they would likely be fine to explore the resort with you. Note that, even during regular operations, only registered Guests (those attached to reservations at the hotel) may use the pool at Disney resort hotels.
Another option would be to get together at
Disney Springs. You could make a dining reservation there, or just meet somewhere and grab some drinks and snacks and shop or explore. I do recommend taking a look at the
Disney Springs Know Before You Go page for all the details about parking, temperature screenings, and other safety measures. It’s a popular destination, particularly on weekends, so plan to arrive early. If you decide to visit Disney Springs, I always recommend a visit to
Amorette’s Patisserie, which has the most delicious – and gorgeous – dessert creations.
Have so much fun next week, Diane! I hope you’re planning to visit the
Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival during your visit. If you do, pick up a Festival Passport to guide you through all the experiences and food and drink options. You won’t
bee-lieve all the springtime fun there is to be had!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
