Hello we are coming to Disney World sometime in Sept 2019 and would like to know if I can get an AARP discount and my military discount for the Port Orleans Riverside resort. Thank you so much Vicky

    Hi Vicky!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting that you're in the beginning stages of planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog as they post multiple times a day all kinds of new Disney Parks news, everything from attractions to merchandise to the latest best bites and sweet treats.

Mine is a Military Family too, so please allow me to thank you and your family for your service to our country! Disney says a giant 'Thank You' to those currently serving or who are fully retired with U.S. Military rates at all of their Resort Hotels; the trick is that just like other hotel brands, the number of rooms per resort is limited per night, so it's best to book your room as far out as possible. To find out if a Military rate is available during your vacation dates, you will have to call Disney's Resort Hotel Reservation phone line, which is (407) 939-1936. (Ask about any other discounts from your affiliations, like AARP, during this phone call too.)

Mickey does list various Special Offers, Deals and Discounts online throughout the year. You can even book a room-only reservation now and keep checking back for any specials; if you happen to find one that fits within your vacation dates, you can call the above number to 'upgrade' to the new offer later on.

Don't forget to check directly with any travel memberships like AAA or warehouse clubs to which you might belong. And one last Resort Hotel option is Shades of Green, which is an Armed Forces Vacation Property located on Disney property near Magic Kingdom Park.

We'll See You in 2019, Vicky!
