Hi Robyn,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your question!
My answer to your question will depend on how big everyone in your party is. Younger kids may be more willing (or able!) to share a bed than teenagers or adults. For that reason, if your family of 6 includes mostly younger children, I would recommend looking into one of the Family Suites at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Plus, I really think that they would love the Big Blue Pool and the larger-than-life icons that they’ll find around the Resort!
If, however, your family includes more teenagers or adults, then I would recommend getting two standard rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort or, for bigger beds and a bit more space, two rooms at a Moderate Resort Hotel like
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter or at
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Although I don’t think you can go wrong with any Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, those are probably my two favourite Moderates, both from a theming and amenities point of view. Please note that, although you should definitely request connecting rooms when making your reservation and that your Resort Hotel will make every effort to honour your request, the availability of connecting rooms is not guaranteed.
I hope this helps you plan your upcoming vacation! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
