I know it doesn't feel very magical when you can’t find a reservation for the adventure you’re looking for. Savor the Savanna and the Wild Africa Trek are two exciting tours in the
Enchanting Extras Collection and both are very popular! Reservations open 60 days in advance, and since we’re a couple of weeks inside that window, this is likely why there is currently no availability. However, there's still a possibility that cancellations will occur. You may even see some last-minute availability up to 24 hours in advance since reservations can be cancelled up to that point for a full refund. I encourage you to keep checking back!
I know this isn’t exactly the news you were hoping for, especially if you had your heart set on these tours. But don’t hang your safari hat up just yet! I have a few ideas to help you plan a wild adventure at Animal Kingdom just in case you are unable to get a reservation. Let’s find some ways to enjoy both safari adventures
and amazing food!
I recommend starting your day on
Kilimanjaro Safaris. I always think the early morning is a wonderful time to see the animals! While we never know for sure when they’ll be the most active, I love seeing the savanna with the beautiful morning sunlight. I also like to go toward the end of the day as dusk approaches.
Pro tip: Ask to sit in the back row of the safari vehicle. This is my favorite place to sit for the best views!
Next, spend some time on the
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trails. This is a self-guided trail through tropical landscapes, so really take your time and enjoy seeing gorillas, hippos, zebras, and other animals in their natural habitats. Then head over to Asia and explore the
Maharajah Jungle Trek, where you’ll find tigers, gibbons, and a whole jungle full of exotic animals!
Be sure to make time for the other special residents of Animal Kingdom, too! Some of the most magical moments are with our favorite Disney characters. Check out this

When you’re ready to sit down and relax in the afternoon, my favorite spot in Animal Kingdom is
Nomad Lounge. This is the
perfect place to savor some of the amazing flavors in this park! I love to sit outdoors on the deck where the views are stunning. Be sure to try the churros and the Traveller’s Provisions, which includes a selection of naan bread and dips. I’m going to predict this just might become
your new favorite spot, too!
