Thanks for surfing back over to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jaclyn!
I have three children myself (14, 12, 8) that have visited both
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park several times, so I took your question to them for feedback. The choice was unanimous: Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park! Here are some tips from my very own Disney Kids.
• Blizzard Beach is hands-down the best of the two for attractions! Especially for "thrill slides." My youngest child was just six years old the first time she braved Summit Plummet. And the Downhill Double Dipper & Teamboat Springs are splash-tacular family fun.
• My 8 year old's tip is to head to Ski Patrol Training Camp when everyone wants a break from water slides. "I love the zip-line thing that drops you into the water, and the iceberg hopping is fun, too."
• My 14 year old son says the
Mini-Donuts available at the kiosk near Lottawatta Lodge are one of his favorite attractions. He's always thinking about snacks.
• My 12 year old prefers bobbing around on a tube in the waves of Melt Away Bay.
And I love that there is truly something for everyone at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. While Typhoon Lagoon wins for ambiance and its tropical setting, Blizzard Beach is where my family goes for thrills & chills.
I hope this helps, Jaclyn! Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I am here to help you plan a tubular water park day.
Ski ya later!
