We're coming to Disney World in June for 7 days & we have a 3 year old... I know we'll need a stroller, I'm just wondering if our normal stroller would work just fine or if we should invest in a good light weight umbrella stroller? Which is better?

    Hi James,

If your little one is comfortable in your existing stroller, and it can be folded and (somewhat) easily carried on and off buses, I think you will be fine with what you have.  I've traveled to Disney with just about every make and model of stroller, and they've all worked great.  Basically, you need a "seat on wheels" to spare your child's little legs (and your arms, which would otherwise likely be carrying him/her)  from miles of walking throughout the parks.  I'm a big fan of strollers with a decent canopy to protect kids from the sun, and provide a bit of privacy for impromptu naps.

Many people like umbrella strollers because they are light, and fold easily, especially when travelling with more than one stroller-riding kid.  (For example, I have a side-by-side umbrella that I take when I go to the parks alone with two-children.)  If you only have one child who will be in a stroller, and are able to fold it and lift it, I'd save my money for some groovy Mickey souvenirs or a nice dinner with your family!

    Have a wonderful vacation!
