We are coming to Disney World in January, staying off-site. We want to be at Magic Kingdom for rope drop on marathon Sunday. How much time should we budget to get to the park? Google maps says 15 minutes to TTC from our hotel on a "normal" day.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Marie!

Rule of thumb when navigating the resort is to allow at least 90-minutes of travel time between destinations. It sounds like you will be driving yourself, so that might be generous. But keep in mind that Magic Kingdom parking, or the Ticket and Transportation Center, is the first stop before you actually arrive at the most magical place on earth. Definitely allow additional time for the tram from the parking to the TTC, the monorail or ferry ride you can choose to whisk you to the park, and security checks prior to entering.

Ideally, you’ll want to be at the park entrance at least 15-minutes before the park is scheduled to open since they sometimes allow guests to enter a few minutes early and you don’t want to miss experiencing Magic Kingdom, Main Street U.S.A., and Cinderella Castle at opening. It’s a stunning sight!
