Hi we are coming to Disney world on the 12th of January through the 16th. should we buy hopper passes or just daily tkts.. we love all of disney so I do not want to miss out.. also can we not get fast passes till we buy our tickets? thanks so much , Sharon

    Hi Sharon,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! I am happy to help you think about purchasing your Disney theme park tickets and using the Disney FastPass+ system.

Whether you purchase the park hopper option on your tickets or not really depends on your traveling party and how you think you would like to experience the theme parks. If you chose not to get the park hopper option and just to purchase base tickets, you will just need to be a little more careful in how you plan, so that you do what you want to at each park each time you visit. A park hopper option will allow you the flexibility to move from park to park during the day, so if you are at Magic Kingdom all day but really want to go to see IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth that night at Epcot, you can. My family often has annual passes, which come with a park hopping option. We find that most often, we do visit only one park per day. The times that we visit two theme parks tend to be if we spend the morning in one, head back to our resort for a midday pool break, and then head to another theme park for dinner and the nighttime show.

As to making Disney FastPass+ selections, yes, you will need to have your Disney theme park tickets purchased first before you can make these selections. Be sure that your tickets are linked through your My Disney Experience account in order to make Disney FastPass+ selections. You can make these selections 30 days in advance, or if you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel, 60 days before your check-in date.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Sharon. Please do let us know if you have any further questions!
