We will be coming to Disney World for our honeymoon in April. We are trying to figure out if the Deluxe Dining Plan will meet the needs of our trip and if it is a save or not.... Any thoughts?

    Hi Jennifer:

The best way to figure out if the dining plans are worth it are to plan out what several sample meals would cost if you paid out of pocket instead of on the dining plan.  Menus and general pricing can be found on Disney restaurant pages or on unofficial websites, like, if you search for "menus."

In general, the more expensive your taste, the more the dining plan is worth it.  For example, you will likely find that if you order more steak and seafood when you dine, you'll come out better off on the dining plan than paying as you go.  However, if you are light eaters or a family of vegetarians, then you probably won't get as much for your money.   My family tends to shy away from the dining plan because we like more flexibility.  But others do very well opting for the dining plan, either because of cost savings or for the convenience.  Every family really needs to price out some sample meals to figure out if the dining plan would be a money saver.

Enjoy your vacation and congratulations on your marriage.
