    I have been coming Disney World every year since 1998. quite frequently we would arrive at the opening time to see Mickey and the gang welcome everyone to the park. My daughter is there now and said that did not happen this morning.Has this been cancelled

    Wow! You're quite the seasoned Walt Disney World® Resort traveler. The magic just keeps bringing us back for more, doesn't it?

    The Welcome Show, also known as "rope drop," that took place daily at the Magic Kingdom wishing us all a "Good morning," retired on January 8, 2017. In it's place is the all-new Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show. This show takes place each morning at 8:55am at the Forecourt Castle Stage in front of Cinderella Castle.

    Guests are now able to enter Main Street USA up to one hour prior to park opening, grab a pastry or coffee from the Main Street Bakery, and enjoy their time in this area of the park before the official start to another magical day.

    Select the highlighted link for a sneak peek of Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show featured on the Disney Parks Blog. Of course, if you should ever want to watch Mickey and the Mayor of Main Street open the park in the original show, you can catch it on YouTube, too.
