Coming to Disney World in early January, want to do a Keys of the Kingdom tour, I assume you can only book 60 days out, but I’m only seeing availibity to mid December. 60 days should be into January?

Hi Diane, welcome back to planDisney!

Enchanting Extras Collection experiences are a great way to add some extra pixie dust to your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. You are correct that they can be booked 60 days in advance. You are also correct that availability is currently showing into January. So why can't we select January dates for Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour that are within the 60-day window?

A Cast Member solved the mystery by confirming that Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour is not currently being offered from mid-December through the beginning of January. I suspect this has something to do with the crowds that fill the parks over the holidays. Based on current information, she said Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour should be offered again beginning January 9. That date is subject to change, but I encourage you to take it as fact and log into your My Disney Experience account to book for dates after January 9 as soon as you are able. Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel can book for their entire length of stay (up to 10 days) 60 days before check-in, which is a significant advantage that explains why some experiences fill up over 60 days in advance. For reference, a new day of reservations for Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour typically opens at midnight EST.

My husband surprised me with a reservation for Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour for my birthday a few years ago. He's an excellent gift giver, but that was truly the best gift ever. I learned many fun facts from our Cast Member tour guide, Rey, that I love sharing with others every chance I get. And I've always wanted to be a Disney Cast Member so being able to walk the "Utilidor" tunnels was a dream come true. If you've ridden Jungle Cruise you know about the back side of water. Well, consider this tour the back side of magic.

I hope the timing works out and you're able to fit Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour into your magical itinerary, Diane. If you have any other trip-planning questions, you know where to find me.

    Choose magic,
