Hiya Aimee,
Welcome to planDisney! First, let me say I’m so happy to hear about your son being cleared of a brain tumor. What magical news! I’m sure you all can’t wait to celebrate as a family next week!
Speaking of celebrations, I can totally understand why a
Disney After Hours event would be a great thing to add to your itinerary. Who doesn’t love extra time in the theme parks and yummy snacks?! I’m sorry to hear that the
Disney After Hours Event at Magic Kingdom is sold out for your visit (and that
Hollywood Studios isn’t offering one until the end of the month). New tickets may become available on extremely rare occasions, but that is not guaranteed. You can always check back on the tickets page to see if anything else becomes available (you never know). Another option is to check when you arrive at a theme park ticket window. There are no guarantees, but it doesn’t hurt to check in case they have any available tickets.
Aimee, I know this wasn’t the answer you were hoping for, but I will keep my fingers crossed for some magic for your Mouseketeers. Before I let you go, I’m not sure if you are staying at a deluxe resort or villa at Walt Disney World (or other select hotels), but if you are, you should take advantage of the
extended evening hours at EPCOT (on April 7th) and Magic Kingdom (on April 9th). While you do not get the complimentary treats, you do get to enjoy additional time in those two parks included with your stay (so no additional cost!). EPCOT may not have a Galaxy far, far away, but it is home to Guardians of the Galaxy so you can still get in some interplanetary fun. Please come back and see us if you need anything else!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
