Mom and Daughter at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Room

    We are coming to Disney World in April 2016. Am I right in believing that on the day of check in we can arrive early check in and get our bands activated and then go to Disney Springs, have dinner, shop etc until our room is ready???

    Hi Rachel and fellow Hoosier! The Disney resorts are busy on almost every day of the year making the housekeeping staff some of the most important people there. Guests of course want to check in early and enjoy their first day but the rooms might not be ready when they are. So Disney of course understands and will allow you to check in when you arrive. They will activate your magic bands and send you on your way to enjoy the time until they text you that your room is ready. You will not need to check in again but can head to your room which they will text the number to you. To be fair there have been times when the magic bands do not work on the first try as your key so one person might have to hike back to the front desk. I would rather know this in advance and be happy if all things go perfectly.

    Enjoy the new Disney Springs. There is so much to see and do and so much is still coming in the next year. Enjoy a dinner and some of the great entertainment and of course start your Disney shopping on day one!
